Fairness

And don't we all love fairness. Down here in Australia it is part of the vernacular: the fair-go. "Fair-go, mate!" is what you will hear from someone (speaking to somebody else) if that somebody else is doing something which is not considered fair. To try and get a handle on the subject of fairness, we will consider a pie to be sliced up and portioned out to those around the table. If everyone would just take their slice and be happy, then all would be well. But what often happens is that some will say they are not getting a big enough slice, and that somebody else's slice is too big. These situations can be quite trying to folk who just want to eat their slice in peace and quiet. The only answer I've been able to come up with in these situations, is that the pie doesn't seem to be big enough. So the fault obviously lies with the baker.
